This bone scan was done at the end of that first week and it's purpose was to help determine if the cancer had spread to other parts of my body.  I have to admit that "Subtle findings worrisome for isolated metastatic disease to the L2 vertebral body." had me pretty freaked out for a terrifying couple of days, until we found out it wasn't actually cancer giving that result... guess it was the arthritis and other inflammation in my spine.  Until I found out, though, I was seriously trying to figure out how to get by with spine amputation.
