This is how I looked shortly after my mastectomy but before I'd lost my hair.  In case you're wondering, no I didn't make my bed... I just pulled the blankets up.  Really.  Unless you're my mother, and then I totally made my bed.  You can see the drain tubes and drain pouches in this picture... they enter my chest a few inches below the surgical incisions on either side and then wrapped around inside up near the top of my chest (kind of below my collar bone).  If you are ever gifted with such drainy accessories, and your highly curious five year old neighbor asks you what is inside, do not say "my insides" without thinking about it first.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to hell for that one.
