My office nook... the origin of most of my joy and nearly all of my frustration...

I'm sure you realized that there had to be an office area somewhere in my apartment, since I do all the work on my website from my home, but I bet you didn't realize it was so small...

I suppose I should consider myself lucky, though, since in a one bedroom apartment you don't usually get a separate area large enough for not only a computer a desk, but also a rickety old bookcase (hidden off to the left) and a thirty-gallon aquarium (not quite as algae-covered as it looks in the picture, and abandoned a bit ago in favor of the larger tank).  Being so functional, this area hasn't quite received the loving attention to detail as some other areas of my apartment, but most of the time I'm too busy hacking things to death or blowing things up to notice.  The curtain was put up in a hurry to block out an unreasonable amount of early evening sun, so it's not as attractive as I'd like, and the computer monitor and case (and speakers, and keyboard) don't really do anything for the antique writing desk, but who has the money to mess with things like that?  I would like, someday, to replace my bookcase (which I'm too embarrassed to even show you) with a nicer model (maybe even one with a built in filing cabinet), but I think it's going to have to stand in line behind all of the other potential apartment improvements... bleargh.

I know it's difficult to leave the home of the video games and the free internet porn, but eventually one must move on...  Might I suggest a quick look, perhaps, at the bathroom or the bedroom? How about the kitchen or maybe even the living room?  Don't want to go?  You can always look at the office nook again, I suppose...
